Democracy at Work

October 29 - November 30

Meet the unsung heroes of democracy in a new journalistic exhibit that shines a light on the men and women who dedicate their lives to public service. Washington County Public Library welcomes you to explore this inspiring photo gallery now being displayed.

“Democracy at Work” was created by the Virginia Center for Investigative Journalism at WHRO Public Media. The gallery will take you behind the scenes to meet the people who protected “we the people” and learn their inspiring stories. These heroes, often unappreciated and underpaid, choose public service out of a deep belief in its mission.

The exhibit will be on display at the Abingdon library now through November 30th and is free and open to the public.
